In reference to SOME of my damaged Goods it may be stated, that it would not be safe either to use or sell them: they could not escape saturation from various offensive and deleterious articles. Oils, Turpentine etc. being lighter than water, nearly the whole of my stock of these articles was floated out and dispersed, the containing vessels being filled with water. In this account, all articles destroyed or unsaleable are charged for the full quantity at cost prices, & where an article has been rendered of only fractional value, or has been partly destroyed I have estimated the value in accordance in the money column |
