Loss to Personal Estate |
|
On the eleventh day of March 1864 John Cowton Appleby Grocer etc. of Hillsbro' next door but one to the Hillsbro' Inn stood indebted to me in the sum of Sixty Seven Pounds Three Shillings and Eight Pence for Goods supplied to him by me as shown in my Ledger Account. The Stock in Trade and part of the House and Shop were washed away by the flood and the said John Cowton Appleby was drowned. In consequence of this I have hitherto been unable to obtain payment of the amount due which would long ago have been settled if the business had not been totally destroyed and I claim the sum of money in the Margin from the said Water Company for loss sustained |
