    Letter B.        
    A Specification of the Work to be done in repairing the damage done by the bursting of the Bradfield Dam to the Rolling Mill & Houses situate in Owlerton in the Occupation of Mr. Lee and belonging to Montague George Burgoyne Esquire        
    The Roof timbers must be shored up with timber of sufficient strength before the end wall is taken down. The Wall then to be carefully taken down and rebuilt with good Mortar and any deficiency of Materials must be found by the Contractor. Two new Window Frames must be made and fixed with Lintels of Sufficient Strength. A new pair of batten Window Shutters hung and made complete. One of the Old Door Cases must have new Oak Jambs and the door rehung and the Walling which is injured must be taken down and rebuilt and all made good. The other door case which is broken must be spliced with Oak and refixed and the door rehung. A New Plank Bridge with Rails on each side must be made and fixed across the pentrough. The Water Wheel must be reboarded on each side. The Slating of the Roof where injured must be made good. Centres must be Framed and fixed for making good the broken Arch and the Masonary then made good. The Goit Walls and the Walls dividing the the two Wheel Races must be rebuilt and all made good and Puddle and Rubbish must be provided and filled in behind the Walls. The Sewers which are stopped up must be opened and cleaned out and all made good. The end Wall of the Shed must be repaired. The House Floors which are Sunk must be taken up and relaid and any new pavers required must be found by the Contractor. The Plinth must be taken up and refixed and any other injury occasioned by the Flood to be made good. The privies to be repaired and the Ashes Place walls rebuilt.        
    I hereby engage to perform the Work as mentioned in the preceeding specification in a Workmanlike manner to the satisfaction of Mr Charles Unwin, Architect and Surveyor for the Sum of £42 Dated this 7th day of May 1864, George Pallett
