Firstly, For Injury done to 18 Freehold Dwellinghouses, Outbuildings, Workshops and Premises in Holme Lane Hillsbro' in the parish of Ecclesfield in the County of York, occupied by Jeremiah Buckley, Richard Newton, Thomas Townroe, Edward Francis and others, and for making good same and for loss of rent. |

The Inundation carried away the Outkitchen and Corner of one house, also the external walls of two other Houses and let down the Chamber and Garrett Floors - It also either bulged or broke through most of the partition walls of all the Houses and carrying away the Window Frames, Shutters & outer doors of many, damaging the rest & also all the inner doors & cupboards as well as some of the staircases - The fabric of the Houses was cracked in many parts & much shaken throughout - It also filled the low rooms and cellars with Water, Mud & other debris. Two Workshops and all the out buildings & the boundary Walls were completely washed away. |
